Sustained Investigation

How does others’ perception of confidence affect our relationship with it? Throughout my life, I’ve had a fear of my confidence being misunderstood for arrogance. I created this series of works to examine this feeling more closely. I’ve come to realize that scrutinizing myself only deepens the self absorbed image of which I try to avoid. My question is somehow transformed in this sense: how does my relationship with my sense of confidence affect the world’s perception of me?

Simply Not There

A projection of confidence without vulnerability steals your identity and turns you cold as stone. Clear plexiglass highlights chameleon like nature of exuding confidence till sense of self is lost.
